STREETS OF ISTANBUL

Imagine! Here in Istanbul there are streets where you can usually find the same things in different shops in a row. For example, yarn street...the street is lined with shops selling yarn. Or wedding dress street. There are shops selling wedding dresses all along the street. Or, for example, a street of shops selling cars. This is how it is in Kadikoy where I live. 

But on the European side, where the Grand Bazaar is also located, the same is happening with the streets....jewellery shop street or lingerie street or tool street or kitchenware street or clothes street or shoes street etc. My goodness! First of all, why should everyone look like a 19th century princess in a tire skirt, with breasts puffed up to the chin and of course a wasp waist, which requires a corset built into the dress...

...which is then pulled so tight that the bride is so slender and than she just looks like a bogey! 

This makes her look funny or miserable (especially if someone never ever in her life wisjed to wear such type of clothes like this) when the bride is a bit fatter or fat. As we know the fat doesn't disappear just buy pushed inside your clothes. It just transforms and migrates to other regions...e.g. the belly to the back and the breasts...which makes the whole appearance of the bride look even more ridiculous. 

Now this is my opinion of course. 

On the other hand, if you want to deviate from the classic style, it's very hard to find a wedding dress...because everywhere it's mandatory that the bride is skinny 

as a reed, has a slim waist and is beautiful as a face model...

Now I have to tell you that not all women look like that! And not every woman has a wasp-waist and not every woman is thin as a reed and...yes!...not every woman has a beautiful face in the classical sense...but she can still be beautiful...and especially to the one who marries her. 

So women with a figure like mine (apple that is) who can't or don't want to wear a princess dress and lose weight to XXS or XS or S or M dress sizes (which I note means different sizes in every shop) and they just simply want to buy something what they think is beautiful for them in their view, in their understanding, for their own wedding something that they and perhaps their husband-to-be will find beautiful or special for this occasion. 

The same could be said for all the dresses you can buy in the shops. The waist of the trousers is narrowed down so let there be a man on the Earth who can breathe in them, unless she is extra thin or lucky enough to have a wasp's waist. 

And even if you are...you can still like the hip style. But fuck! It's so tight that if you don't have a "waist" you can't wear it because it's tight. And even though, let's say, a size 28 would be fine (because you're an apple and you have a small butt and small hips), it doesn't fit you because all the fat is concentrated around your waist and on your belly.

Now, may I ask, ..

...why the fuck fashion designers don't think about that? We are a big part of the world. It's a real shape an existing one not an invention not a fantasy...

In Turkey the female population is short...many are mainly pear shaped (narrower waist and bigger butts) but there are also many apples like me. 

If I want to buy a trousers for me I have to buy one twice bigger than my actual size just to fit on my waist but in that case the style becames totally different plus I have to cut down half of the lenght beacuse this size was meant to be for woman with 10 centimer higher than me, just because the fashion industry declared that this is the ideal shape so now everbody belives the same (brain washed) and looking for that. 

So this is how you have to look like otherwise go and find yourself something on the man section or on the second hand market or wear your mother or father or grandmother’s clothes.

My husband invented a new expression for this kind of pressure of the todays fashion industry, he called it ’fashion fasizm’ which I liked so much, as it is expressing exactly my feelings on this. This he came to say when I explained him how difficult for a woman like me with an ’apple shape’ to find a stylish , comfortable but cool trousers because in all shops you can find things only for woman with ’super model shape’. 

Excuse me we are ordinary people with ordinary body but we would also like to look good and stylish and buy sometimes trousers which fits and suits at least when we need but sometimes maybe when we just feel like.
